FRAGMENTS FROM A PLACEMENT YEAR

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Michelle but I prefer to use Shell, I am in my 60’s studying for a Degree in Heritage and Archaeology. 2026/2027 is my placement year in which I am working within the Archaeology department for Dr Jodie Lewis and Dr Adrian Evans.

As part of my placement I wish to record not only what I do on a daily basis but also reflections, what I have learnt, challenges, successes, and the rabbit holes I’ve fallen down. I will also document the realities of being a mature student while managing family commitments and everyday responsibilities.

So, here’s to unearthing my placement year!
