Hay-on-Wye was my chosen destination for my 60th birthday (July 26). I wanted to buy 6 books for 60 years and I had no pre-determined ideas of what they may be. These are the 6 books I chose:
Detective story combining genetics, linguistics, archaeology and historical records.
Covering the well-known and impressive finds but also the unloved and unacknowledged objects that languish in stores rooms across Britain.
One of my most favourite authors even though I never read his books all the way through! To be honest, I do that a lot!
How were the dead remembered in early medieval Britain? This one I intend to get to the end!
Peace of mind is hard to find. Is the key to it in the past? Looking forward to reading this.
